I had an e-mail from Livejournal this morning informing me that I had been anonymously given a snowflake. ("Please visit your profile page to view your gift.") I have no idea how this works, or who it's from, or why anyone would give anyone else a virtually rendered snowflake, possibly a snowflake cookie: but unless it's from someone I would deeply prefer to avoid, I don't mind its presence.
The idea of a snowflake as something dispensable in an individual unit is... well, odd.
I've gathered from other posts that it is indeed a snowflake cookie, which somehow fails to make any more intuitive sense, seeing they are both, you know, made of pixels. Go figure.
For what it's worth, the only one I've received was from an identified friend, but at least one of my friends has received one anonymously. I amn't oversure if LJ is passing a certain number of them out, or if it's simply that a number of unconnected folk are giving them out anonymously.
