Seconded. I love when you write about the arts you love.

Thank you. It really would spike the number of posts I make, and I'm not sure I want to put that much time into Livejournal . . .

is Zhivago a special case? or do you think that all (or many) artists are less important than their art?

To a certain degree, always the second. It can be illuminating to study an artist's life, but the cautionary lesson of Sylvia Plath stays with me—a poet's death is not somehow more telling than their work, so why should their life be?
