The piano has been drinking

I formally pronounce this a Day of Weird.

I am clinically dehydrated and I just saw Sam Waterston in the grocery store.

On my way back from the doctor's office, where I was informed that my brain had gone prune-shaped (hence the spiking migraine-like headache and the general fogginess), I was buying eight liters of water and a bag of chips; he was buying an armful of roses and some snacks. I told him he had really good eyebrows. He laughed and told me to give mine time.

Apparently he is in town for Tom Stoppard's Travesties, which I must now go and see. You can't just compliment a guy's eyebrows in the checkout line and then not go see his play.

Meanwhile, I have all the effects of a staggering hangover without having drunk anything the night before. Does this strike anyone else as unfair?

Pass the next liter . . .

Hah! That's funny. I used to feel the same way whenever I sat and had coffee with Sam Shepard, discussing poetry or history. Eventually, I just had to read his plays (which were, thankfully, quite good).

You are herein ordered to take care of yourself.

Travesties is a nifty play. Go see it, when you get yourelf floated.

Ninety-nine liters of water on the wall, ninety-nine liters of water...

I could so see you being confronted by some magical enemy, and escaping by desiccating into withered leaves and blowing away.

*hug* I've been through dehydration before, and that sucks . . . on the bright side, you don't have to end up in Waltham-Deaconness hopsital like I did?

Either way, just take it slow and don't push yourself . . . and feel better!

Wow, scaryness. I'm glad you're okay...

That sounds deeply unpleasant; I hope you feel better soon.

I'm sorry "Birthday" didn't play. The file is too big for my email to handle, so I'll send you something else (tomorrow) instead.

I'll be home starting tomorrow if you want real food made by someone other than you at some point. Once I have a chance to find my way to the grocery store, I can do amusing smoothies very much like Claire's (because I learned their recipes while I worked there, once upon a time), but without the ridiculous price tag. Those are liquid, sort of, and fun.

I'm in Hamden, just off of Whitney, just after Walgreens- easily reachable by the J bus.
