I know for a fact we have asbestos-loaded old linoleum under the kitchen vinyl, and both are going to have to go. The old lino turns the whole project into a toxic waste site.

Gyah. You have my sympathies. At least I don't think we had actual hazmat, just years of water damage and colonizing mice (which is why most of today was spent in ripping up the floor . . .).
