RT's Rumour and Sigh is a grand album, isn't it? It might be my single favourite record of his. That said, I've not got a copy of the Thousand Years of Popular Music one, although I've really liked everything I've heard from it, so that might change once I've heard the whole of it. ;-)

I only know "Read About Love" and "Don't Sit on My Jimmy Shands." I like both of those very much, however.

I would recommend all of these artists on general principle, too. Splashdown and My Favorite no longer exist and Consonant seems to be on hiatus following the reunion of Mission of Burma, but their music can still be found (including through me), and the Decemberists are quite live and well!

Those are good songs. "Vincent Black Lightning 1952" and "Keep Your Distance" are probably my favourites on the album. I'm not sure where my copy's got to the now, but I'll see what I can do.
