I don't remember last night, but they took my picture
And I can finally put up that picture meme, which I saw first at
steepholm's:
Take a picture of yourself right now. Don't change your clothes. Don't fix your hair. Just take a picture. Post that picture with no editing. (Except maybe to get the image size down to something reasonable. Don't go posting an eight megapixel image.) Include these instructions.
This was of course on Thursday night, while I was hanging out with Eric and the usual suspects and therefore not near my camera, so
bobcolby kindly took a picture of me as I came down the stairs; he sent it to me this afternoon and it is reproduced beneath the cut. Back to the houseguests.

September 18, 2008. The hat is hanging on the newel post upstairs; it is invisible. I think the shadow on the wall up behind me may belong to Eric.

Much better than mine; then again, mine was shot in a mirror, at about one in the morning.

Thank you! I'm a little surprised, but not going to argue.
Flash or sunlight?
Flash; it was about nine o'clock at night. It does look like strong late afternoon sun.

That's not bad. You didn't get hellish flash off the mirror, either, which any picture taken by me undoubtedly would have.

Thank you. Credit to Bob.

What a lovely smile! My own expression showed mainly the exasperating time I was having getting myself into the picture ... .

I have a second career as a caryatid.

Says the ridiculously photogenic man!

That does not make it a bad photograph!

Thank you. Probably because I did not take it myself (thereby violating the terms of the meme) . . .

I turned off the flash--surprised that it worked, to be honest, but I was using my mother's camera, which, while not an SLR, is better at low-light work than mine.
Much more interesting than me, I think, is the painting over the piano, which is one of my uncle Benjamin's.

You'll note I haven't participated. I don't want to blow my cover.
