So that was definitely the Yom Kippur that was, but I have eaten a phenomenal quantity of unagi and seaweed salad as well as a sweet rice donut with red bean paste inside and part of selkie's cream bread and am inordinately entertained by this TikTok from the Fenimore Art Museum which N. shared with me. spatch lit last night's yahrzeit candle for remembrance of the dead. The rest of us are still here at the start on the other side. G'mar tov. My godchild gave my laptop existential angst.

Yom Kippur here proved awful as I'm sure you'll have read but all cheers to Rabbi Daniel Walker for his heroic act and to the congregation who continued worship outside when they had to be evacuated from the synagogue!

I didn’t know they went on praying! Fuck! That’s heroic.

We got the wire about it just as we were loading-in for our children’s and main services and our police presence suddenly doubled/became actually very focused on our perimeter security. I was so enmeshed in the response that I think I forgot to text S about it. I came home and took off my panic button and dropped it in my purse, very privileged.
