One day I will grow old and I'll forget I've never seen this movie because by this description it is so indelibly stamped upon my visual memory, down to the slightly degraded film stock, the white British sky, that it might now be one of my favorite Jarman films. I swear I saw it in the university cinema in 1996 or thereabouts, when I still felt young and full of awe and hope for cinema.
