. I've read Folk of the Air and don't see much resemblance, though admittedly it's been a good several years.
It reminds me in the casual coexistence of gods and road trips and the bits of people's lives that float up through the text. My earliest models for mythology in the modern world were probably Peter S. Beagle and Ursula K. Le Guin, whatever that did to my brain.
