It has been a rough day. News that has come across it—

1. Mira Nair's Mississippi Masala (1992) is coming out on Blu-Ray/DVD from Criterion. I saw it once more than a decade ago and loved it. I have not managed to write about it since.

2. R.B. Lemberg is fundraising for Ukrainian poets. Writers should be paid, especially during a blitz.

3. A thousand-year-old nine-tailed fox demon has broken free of her stone prison. rushthatspeaks tells me she enchanted two emperors of China, one of Japan, and one of India. Who's next?

Our cats are good, but I don't think that's news.
