Wow, cool. *Mercury Theatre* person!!

I didn't recognize his name at first when [personal profile] spatch read it out of the index, but as soon as he said that he had played Lucius for Welles, I knew who he was and the whole situation became a lot wilder. I know most people's books don't go into archives, but I never think about random famous people's books just ending up in stores I frequent. I have any number of books that used to be the property of people I never heard of.

All I ever get are birthday inscriptions I wish the person had kept, not parts of history.

I always hope in the case of something like that that it wasn't the person themselves who gave the book away, but their inheritors after the fact.

Though even those are their own part of history.

And something I miss, as well.
