I'm not sure I can give recommendations! I mostly stumble blindly through 80s film, both those I have and those I haven't seen before, and marvel at it.
There's not just the glorious innate weirdness of that decade, but the weirdness of the transition between the 70s and 90s (I don't think people usually think of the 80s as a transition decade, tbh, the 90s is more likely to be perceived that way, and certainly there are elements of some genres in 80s film that I think are specifically characteristic of that genre, but in terms of audiovisuals, it's definitely transitional between, for example, the use of quiet and breathing space in 70s film and the music video strung together vibe a lot of films were noted to have in the 90s).
