All the drama we got is wasting time on the clock

Tonight I missed a professional Zoom function whose initial invitation never reached me (I checked all my folders) and whose reminder arrived in my e-mail well after the event had ended. [personal profile] spatch has assured me that this is technology being stupid and not my fault, but all of the parts of my brain that light up at failure have gone into catastrophizing overdrive. I do not appreciate this situation. Plus, although it was more like a confirmation than a surprise, I have just been informed that Mission of Burma have officially called it quits.

At least most of the day was quiet. It was too hot for the cats to curl up with me, but Autolycus spent much of the afternoon napping nearby. [personal profile] yhlee sent me a literary, oceanic care package which will enable me to experiment with watercolors with names like "Sea Glass" and [personal profile] skygiants successfully sold me on watching Crash Landing on You (사랑의 불시착, 2019) when I haven't been able to focus on movies all month and [personal profile] rydra_wong pointed me toward this T-shirt which I have bought, thus sending funds to the Okra Project and giving me something else nice to wear. And I enjoy having a friend who is a journalist who gets to write articles with titles like "If fish is brain food, does that mean coastal seagulls are smarter?"

Not least, this art is pretty hot.

As a former employer of mine used to lament back in the late 1980s, "Isn't it great that we have technology to help us? I'm going back to index cards."

Mission of Burma have officially called it quits.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I knew people (idiots) who refused to listen to them after they reformed, but I really liked Onoffon and Unsound.

We’re going to have to relax the custodial agreement this week. He’s still cardamom comatose.

Seriously zoom notifications are notoriously bad. I don’t triple check on our call links just because I have an anxiety disorder!

Love.

no one's dead and what we got was really good

That is a good thing to remember right now.

Let he who has never had a Zoom meeting mishap cast the first aspersion; honestly the whole system is just a tissue of holes: the technology is buggy, but not only that, people's internet capacities are vastly different, our hardware is different, our expectations are *not* the same--it's a nightmare.

That art is indeed hot. I've always thought that water and wind make great lovers.

Joke's on Catullus: the wind and the water are the most faithful of all.

YES.

I do, too, tho' I remember when computer databases were a miracle of rare device, back in 8-bit days.
