All I see are landmarks of you

So the Science Friday after Thanksgiving always includes coverage of the latest Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony. (My mother called from her work commute to make sure I knew that she had just turned on the radio and heard the one about life-preserving Italian pizza.) Obviously I tuned in because I wanted to hear how the hour-long condensation had come out. Not only did they include an excerpt from the mini-opera Creatures of Habit, it was the first act, meaning I have now been broadcast on national public radio singing about not shutting up. I got recommended on NPR last summer, but I wasn't audible. I am delighted.

P.S. And then I went downstairs to run an errand and found waiting on the doorstep my contributor's copy of the deluxe signed hardcover of Dreams from the Witch House: Female Voices of Lovecraftian Horror (Dark Regions Press, 2016) edited by Lynne Jamneck. It's slipcased. It's beautiful. My hand's on the signature sheets. My contribution was "All Our Salt-Bottled Hearts," the queer Jewish Innsmouth story I just mentioned was recommended on NPR.

I am extra delighted.

I knew you before you were famous! And now you’re on NPR for your efforts and massive talent! As opposed to for our clattering, commingled remains being found in Weetamoo-Crustacean State Forest!
It is infinitely preferable and a harbinger of good things to come.
