I am so, so very glad to read that the Boston treasure from Byron Preiss' The Secret (1982) has finally been found and I am curiously unsurprised that it was under the site of the molasses flood. The involvement of construction work was an especially apposite touch. A peridot is a nice city gem.

I think it is generally agreed that Preiss really overestimated the obviousness of his clues. (The whole dying thing is not his fault.)

I feel like the more casques are found, the more the patterns of thinking that formed the clues will become evident, and the likelier it will become that more will be found, if they still exist and are accessible. I hope so.
