But we're burning to the ground, just waiting to be found

I did not make it to the wedding out of town because I was flattened, but I have seen photos and it looks like a joyous time. Have a couple of links.

1. You can't even make the obvious joke because the headline does it for you: "Migrating Russian eagles run up huge data roaming charges." Thanks a lot, Min.

2. Courtesy of [personal profile] spatch: king tides in Dorchester and Long Wharf. I used to have dreams like both of these pictures. I wonder if I'll stop now that I see them for real.

3. This is some quality nonsense from 1927.

I enjoyed T. Kingfisher's The Twisted Ones (2019) even if it wound up reminding me oddly more of Lovecraft than Machen. I have been requested by [personal profile] kore to review at least one spooky movie for Halloween and will see what I can do.

P.S. The Boston Lyric Opera is doing an opera about the lavender scare? That is relevant to my interests.

That is quality nonsense, and my day is better for it.

I want my noodles to come back buttered. These days, they get eaten before they return.

I LOVE the quality nonsense! Thank you! (Proodle--wonderful)

The tide photos are quite something, too.

Oh, that's much better pictures of the tide than another I saw.

I mean. Not that it's good that this is happening, but if it is happening, I want this kind of picture. That captures the sensation.

I live with a growing noodle fiend. I have to slurp fast or they're gone.

The king tide here in Belfast was pretty good this morning, too. Right up the sides of the Lagan river in its salt-mixed reaches. I kept thinking of the daffodil bulbs, so pretty in spring, today all underwater.

I actually didn't connect it to the king tide since they quite often close the floodgates at the true sea-mingling point and keep the water up in the tidal reach, to control any chance of flood &c.

I'll see if it looks similarly a touch dramatic tomorrow. It wasn't anything like those nice ones you posted!

I love the noodle nonsense! Quality journalism.

Isn't the Russian eagle news story almost too good to be true? It really does sound like it should only exist in a satire.
