I consider it unreasonable in the extreme to have anxiety nightmares about something that already happened, but that's how I started my day. I worked until my brain hit a wall and then I lay under a cat and did nothing except stare at TCM and then fall asleep, which I hope was good for me.

muccamukk is looking for recommendations for Jewish vampire fiction. I've named all the ones I can think of and am now feeling more than vaguely as though I should contribute to the literature myself.

forestofglory is recommending Jewish SFF in general. I want credit for stuffing Tiny Wittgenstein into a desk drawer and mentioning myself in comments.

You were trying to translate one and survive the other?

I don't remember clearly, nor how the canal barge was part of this, but I think I was trying to survive translating and avoid the other. One or the other was present in cells detached from a spreadsheet.

Back when I had an agent, she sent my vampire Sylvia Plath novel around, and it garnered glowing rejections. In my opinion she lost interest in the book too quickly. Since she and I parted company, I've been sending it to places that accept non-agented submissions. I'm hoping one of these days I'll find the right publisher for it (or that I'll get another agent willing to give it a try).

It really may be my favorite Jewish vampire story. The fact that I first read it when I was like ten years old is irrelevant. It's still that good.
