sovay: (Claude Rains)

I love watching Thomas Mitchell love people in a non-heteronormative way (which I think is the case even when the other person is a woman).

He is great at it. I have good memories of him and Jean Arthur in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) and I was reasonably distracted there by Claude Rains. I remain slightly surprised there's not even a Yuletide fandom for him and Edward Everett Horton in Lost Horizon (1937). [edit] Okay, and Isabel Jewell. I forgot until I re-read the screenplay that Mitchell has pet names for them both. Your point is further proved.
