I think we may rely upon organizations such as the Southern Poverty Law Centre and the Anti-Defamation League to have kept documenting how the hate groups managed to keep from being completely shut down over the decades since 1945.

I am glad to know that they (and their Canadian counterparts) are doing the work and I hate that the work needs to be done. I'll read the material sometime when I'm feeling sturdier.
