I am not generally a noir fan, but "The Tattooed Stranger" sounds like something I might really like.
It is totally worth watching for atmospheric NYC. If it had just had characters even slightly as vivid as the city it was shot in, it would have been great.
I wondered briefly if one could wish for a teenaged Jerry Orbach somewhere in the film but he was actually in high school in Illinois at the time.
He was born in the Bronx, though, which makes him an authentic embodiment of the city, as he has always appeared to me.
