Oddly, I can consume endless amounts of live theater, which I guess is a sort of moving visual art, without feeling that I am staring into the sun without the right kind of lenses.
If it doesn't have to do with screens (cinema, computer, TV), I wonder if it's because in a live production you can choose where to look, whereas film and TV, via cinematography, direct and frame your gaze for you.
