I really liked this film. The scene with the other boy showing Bud around the abandoned house has such an uncanny quality to it.

I really liked this movie, too. I had no real idea what it would be like going in and it was so precise and immersive about its protagonist and his world; it really felt like living inside a story. I could see a lot of plausible ways for it to end downbeat or ambiguously, but I liked (minus a little of the melodrama) the ending we got. John Alton's style is growing on me.
I see that TCM has still not gotten its act together re Watch TCM, which frustrates me, because they are running a lot of movies I would be watching if their streaming service were actually functional. I am concerned.
