I really did. I had good theater, good company, good food, and books which certainly look good to me. The musical lived up to everything I had hoped from it, including that I understood about half of its lyrics and dialogue without the surtitles (in English and Russian, for the record), and I only wish I could have left with the cast recording. It's astonishing to me that it took this long for Friedman's version to make it to the U.S., but I am so glad it did and I saw it.
