I vaguely remember "The Detective" cited as an example of how extreme violence was being treated as normal movie fare. (or something like that. This is me trying to remember an editorial from 40 years ago)
In my mind there is some overlap between that one and "Cruising" (1980)
"Cruising" prompted a lot of protests when it was released, buy a vocal gay community. I guess my mental association was just the police detective angle.
I haven't seen any of the ones you mentioned.
