Also another haunting involving a newborn baby being burned in a fireplace--if you slept in the room where it happened, you'd see it every night, and nothing you did would stop it.

That also sounds relevant!

(And now I have Noël Coward's "The Stately Homes of England" stuck in my head: "The baby in the guest wing who crouches by the grate / Was walled up in the west wing in 1428 . . .")
