It's only barely possible that this might have been a proto-SCA. The film was released in October of 1966, and the first ever SCA event was May Day of that year.

Ah, well. It was the folk-revival costumes, the playing of drums and recorders, and the setting of an invocation of Dionysos to the tune of "What Shall We Do with the Drunken Sailor?" that made me wonder.

the Sexy Lamp test: "If you can replace your female character with a sexy lamp and the story still basically works, maybe you need another draft."

That sounds about right to me.
